What if the key to wellbeing lay not only on a therapist’s couch, but on a coat hanger? And what if your wardrobe wasn’t just storage — but strategy?

In The Pursuit of the Power-Suit, fashion psychologist Yasmina Nessim unveils the transformative power of clothing through S.U.I.T.S.; her five-pillar framework. With elegance and wit, Nessim guides readers through the emerging field of fashion psychology, where neuroscience meets style, and getting dressed becomes an act of empowerment. And this is no dry academic thesis, far from it. With a voice equal parts professor and provocateur, Nessim blends research, case studies, and cultural commentary to show how the garments we choose shape not just how we look — but how we feel, think, and connect.

Equal parts theory and theatre, The Pursuit of the Power-Suit is a sartorial symposium for the curious, the considered, and the chronically overdressed. So, sit back and layer up — you’re about to be intellectually tailored.

For a moment, I wished this book would not end. Packed with truth-telling moments and hidden winks, The Pursuit of the Power Suit is everything I needed to step into my confident and powerful self with awareness, intelligence, and a little bit of wit.

Thank you for such brilliant work; the world needs more fashion psychology, and more of Yasmina Nessim specifically. More editions please!
Witty, fun and takes you away! The Pursuit of the Power Suit is a sharp, inspiring read that goes far beyond fashion. It’s about confidence, presence, and how what we wear can become a tool rather than a costume.

What I loved most is how practical yet empowering the book is it doesn’t tell you to “fit into” a mold, but instead helps you build a power image that actually reflects who you are. The writing is clear, relatable, and grounded in real experience, making it feel both aspirational and achievable.
Loved how real and reflective this book is. A thoughtful and beautifully written book that makes you pause, reflect, and see things a little differently
