Racism in the Aotearoa New Zealand education system doesn’t just impact Māori and Pacific people.

In this book, the authors – originally from Africa and Asia – explore their experiences of post-graduate learning, particularly the issues of race, racial politics, and how racism is encountered in Aotearoa New Zealand. Drawn from lived experience, these fictionalised narratives bring together the authors’ experiences with those of other international students and themes arising from ethnographic research.

Liyun Wendy Choo PhD is a Professional Teaching Fellow at the Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Auckland. She has taught and worked in education in Singapore and Lao PDR, before moving to Aotearoa New Zealand for her doctoral studies.

Temitope Adelekan PhD is a Student Voice Manager at the Auckland University Student Association (AUSA). He has more than 10 years of technology and management experience and has worked with commercial and non-profit organisations in Africa and the UK.
