Librarian's Guide to LPP

This page is for librarians and associated information professionals to help you optimize your institution’s usage of LPP content.

    Interlibrary Loan and Circulation Services

    Ebook ILL

Lived Places Publishing explicitly allows for unrestricted interlibrary loan of its ebooks. Please refer to the LPP ILL policy: The library may loan an entire ebook to another library without having to turn off access at the lending institution. However, it is the responsibility of the lending library to not loan the entire ebook to any other institution until the borrowing library has removed the files from its system.  Chapter level ILL does not have to be paused when a whole ebook is loaned.

    Non-Campus Users

If a non-campus patron is not a current library user, Lived Places Publishing explicitly allows for that patron to utilize the entire ebook on site and to print a single chapter or up to 10% of any desired section within the ebook. If the patron wishes to print more than this amount,we ask them to place a formal interlibrary loan request with their home institution or public library. Remote access is not allowed for non-campus users without a formal ILL request.

    Text and Data Mining

When a researcher wishes to conduct text and data mining of Lived Places Publishing ebooks, no prior permission is required and we encourage any form of research or transformative use of our content. We do ask that the repository of downloaded content not be open to online public usage.

    Technical Services and Cataloging

    MARC and KBART Records

Please refer to the Lived Places Publishing cataloging records that are located here: We send monthly updates via email to your department’s primary contact about new titles added to your library’s entitlements, including Open Access titles. These updates include MARC and KBART records. If your institution is using the Fulcrum platform, they distribute MARC records via a number of Electronic Management System / Knowledge Base products. For more information, please see:

    Annual Updates and Renewals

In order to facilitate timely annual cost information for your acquisitions team members, please inform us of the data sets and other requirements for you to process your annual commitment to Lived Places Publishing. If you wish to set a notification date that matches your fiscal cycle, we will get in touch with you at that specific time.
